Ronnie Fitzgerald is a visual artist who lives and works in the Suir valley in County Tipperary in the Republic of Ireland.He uses several mediums including painting, photography, printmaking, video and installation. His work is a response to the nature of impermanence.
Buddhist and meditative inspiration can be identified in the images subjects and methods used in the process, from paintings and drawings with an emphasis on silence... to photography, print and video work that explore the nature of reality.
He exhibits regularly and has had a number of solo shows as well as taking part in group exhibitions.He has been commissioned in both the public and private sectors,and has work in public and private collections throughout the world.
"The work I make is inspired by my awareness of everything constantly evolving and changing... nothing is permanent. I've got a very strong link to my subjects through experience and memory. Sometimes a situation object or location leads to a drawing or painting, at other times it can result in a series of digital prints, a video piece or installation".
